We appreciate that convenience is key but there are many perks to staying outside a city. Staying in a Cambridgeshire Bed & Breakfast vs a Cambridge hotel will be less expensive for one, more peaceful, and it gives you the opportunity to explore the local towns and villages.
Proximity to Central Cambridge from a Cambridgeshire Bed and Breakfast
Cambridgeshire Bed and Breakfast, Eagle Mill is merely a 25-minute drive from central Cambridge, or a few stops away on the efficient busway which runs until late into the evening.
From visiting ancient colleges and museums to indulging in some retail therapy and enjoying the city’s many restaurants, you could easily spend two or three days exploring Cambridge. A few of our favourite Cambridge attractions to visit, include The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge University Botanical Gardens, Kettle’s Yard (great if you’re an art lover and they also have a lovely cafe), The Finn Boys and Fitzbillies.

St Ives and Houghton
Our Cambridgeshire Bed and Breakfast is within walking distance to medieval market town, St Ives and the quaint village of Houghton.
St Ives, Cambridgeshire is steeped in history. Oliver Cromwell in fact lived in St Ives between 1631 and 1636 and the riverside town is home to one of three bridges in the UK that has a chapel on it. On a Monday and Friday you’ll find bustling market stalls spread across the town square and every first and third Saturday of the month, people travel to enjoy the St Ives Farmers’ Market.
It’s well worth visiting the Norris Museum to brush up on your local knowledge, followed by coffee. Some of our favourite cafés and bars include The Commute Café, The Snug, Tom’s Cakes, The River Terrace, Black Robin Coffee and Di Rita’s.
Houghton lies on the north bank of the River Great Ouse and our Cambridgeshire Bed and Breakfast is a 5-minute walk away. The village is home to National Trust property, Houghton Mill, which is one of the last and most complete water mills to survive on the river Great Ouse. You can book a guided tour around the mill or just relax in the grounds, which hosts a lovely little café. You can also swim, paddle board and canoe at the mill or at various swim spots down the river. Boat trips also run from St Ives to Houghton Mill during the summer months.

We offer corporate deals to those staying with us on business, which makes their stay much more affordable than if staying in Cambridge city.
